REIKI

A gentle practice that supports relaxation, balance, and well-being.

Reiki is a gentle, complementary healing practice that originated in Japan in the early twentieth century through the teachings of Mikao Usui. It is a light-touch practice that promotes relaxation and fosters the body's natural capacity for balance and well-being.

As both a Registered Nurse and Reiki Master, I integrate my nursing experience with a caring, respectful approach that honors the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. Every Reiki session is individualized and offered in a peaceful, soothing environment where you are invited simply to relax.

What to Expect During a Reiki Session

During a session, you remain fully clothed while resting comfortably. Reiki is traditionally offered through light touch, with the practitioner's hands placed gently on or near various areas of the body. If you prefer not to be touched, Reiki may also be provided with the hands held a few inches above the body.

Each person may experience Reiki differently. Many people describe feeling deeply relaxed, peaceful, and renewed during a session. Others notice a greater sense of inner calm, while some simply appreciate taking time to pause, rest, and reconnect with themselves.

How Reiki May Help

Research suggests that Reiki often promotes relaxation and supports overall well-being. Many people seek Reiki to help:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Encourage relaxation

  • Support emotional well-being

  • Complement recovery from illness or medical treatment

  • Ease pain and promote comfort

  • Gain greater clarity during times of change

  • Support individuals and families facing serious illness or end-of-life transitions

Reiki is intended to complement—not replace—appropriate medical care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to believe in Reiki?

No. Reiki is not associated with any particular religion or belief system, and no special beliefs are required to receive a treatment.

Can Reiki be received along with medical treatment?

Yes. Many people choose Reiki as a complementary practice while receiving conventional medical care. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure disease but may provide relaxation and emotional support during challenging times.

Reiki Classes

In addition to offering Reiki sessions, I occasionally teach Reiki classes for those who wish to learn this gentle healing practice for personal growth or to assist others.
